Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan is a famous American singer-songwriter. Her name is also her most well-known nickname, Queen of Funk. Over the course of her long career of more than 50 years, Chaka Khan has been awarded a total 10 Grammys. In addition, she was ranked as the 65th most successful ever dance artist by Billboard magazine. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was exposed to jazz by her mother at an early age. Early in her career she played with various band. Then, in the near future she would become a member of the band Rufus. Together with the group, she made her debut album at age twenty. The following year, the group received their very first Grammy. Her self-titled debut album in the years that followed her debut solo album. She then released several other albums through the years including 'Echoes of an Era The Woman I Am', and "Funk This". Also, she is known for the work she does for charity. Chaka Khan Foundation was established to support children living in poverty families and those with autism. Khan has also worked as an actor on occasions. She played the role of Sister Carrie in the show "Mama I'm a Singing Lady.' Chaka Chaka Chaka
